The Orange County Sheriff's Department is asking for help to find a disabled woman who went missing from an assisted living community in Midway City this past week.
Verta Parker, 63, was last seen about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at her residence at the Pacifica Royale Assisted Living Community in Midway City, the Orange County Sheriff's Department reported. Parker is disabled and uses a medical walker to get around.
Sheriff's officials say facility workers noticed Parker was missing when they were unable to find her for evening medications. Parker typically goes for short walks near the facility, but usually returns within a couple of hours, officials said.
Gail Krause, of the Orange County Sheriff's Department, says it's important for people to call authorities if they see Parker.
"Unfortunately, we have not been able to locate her," Krause said Saturday. "There has been very few leads."
Parker does not have a cell phone or identification with her. She was last seen wearing a dark colored dress over blue jeans, a tan hoodie jacket and white tennis shoes. She stands 6 feet tall, weighs about 200 pounds, has close to the scalp brown hair and brown eyes.
If you have seen Parker call the Orange County Sheriff’s Department at 714-647-7055 or 714- 628-7170.
