Fountain Valley Police stopped 706 drivers a the intersection of Warner and Magnolia avenues, arresting two and citing nine more drivers.

Police Nab Two Drivers During DUI Checkpoint

The Fountain Valley Police Department arrested two people on suspicion of driving under the influence during Friday’s DUI checkpoint.

Officers stopped 706 drivers between 9 p.m. and 3 a.m. Friday on Warner Avenue at the intersection of Magnolia Avenue.

A total of 718 vehicles traveled through the checkpoint and, in addition to the two DUI arrests, 9 drivers were issued citations for being unlicensed or driving on a suspended license, according to Fountain Valley Police Department Sgt. Steve DeSantis. One vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

Funding for this operation was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
