Gilroy: Big-Rig Driver Killed In Crash Was 49-Year-Old Man

Highway 25 remains closed Tuesday afternoon after two freight trucks traveling along Highway 25 collided around 7:35 a.m. near Bolsa Road.

GILROY, CA — The driver who died in a crash between two big-rigs Tuesday morning on state Highway 25 south of Gilroy was a 49-year-old man from San Juan Bautista, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Two freight trucks traveling along Highway 25 Tuesday collided around 7:35 a.m. near Bolsa Road, north of the San Benito County line, CHP officials said.

One truck overturned in the wreck, spilling oil and fuel on about 200 feet of the roadway.

The name of the man who died hasn't been released. The other driver, a 49-year-old San Jose man, suffered minor injuries, according to the CHP.

The crash site along the highway remained closed Tuesday afternoon.
