Friday is upon us and it’s time to make plans for those precious weekend hours. The good news is, there is plenty to do. Check out our picks for this weekend’s fun activities to hit and places to explore.

Our goal is to make the Get Out planner as reliable as possible, but keep in mind, some events change at the last minute. We advise calling ahead just in case.

This weekend you can marvel at amazing chalk art, play blackjack for a good cause, and learn how to make a few desserts that will bring folks to their knees; and that’s just the beginning.

Why Go: Holly Scott hosts this evening of poetry in celebration of April, National Poetry Month.

Why Go: This chalk art festival features contests for artists of all ages, a community canvas for all to contribute to, a donated art car folks can paint and some of the most amazing chalk art you can imagine. The spectacular images will linger as long as the weather allows.
