Heat Wave Prompts City Advisory on Wildfire Protection

With summer officially arrived and the southland in the midst of Glendora city officials are reminding residents of wildfire dangers and prevention tips.

According to a city press release:

“As the wildfires throughout the West have shown us, it is the work done by property owners ahead of time that make the difference in saving homes and lives.  Residents need to create defensible spaces around their home.”

The city also advises residents to reduce all fire “fuels” from their homes by removing or thinning dried or dead vegetation from their properties.

“Please do not think that the Fire Department can do everything for you during a large wildfire, as resources will be overwhelmed,” according to a city press release.
