Coastside Residents Invited to 'Plan Half Moon Bay'

The City of Half Moon Bay is updating its General Plan and they're looking to engage the community to solicit feedback from a broad group of residents about life on the Coast.

Coastside Residents Invited to 'Plan Half Moon Bay'

Share your ideas. Be heard. Build a better community.

That's what Alex Khojikian, assistant to the city manager of Half Moon Bay, and officials from the Planning Department and City Hall are hoping Coastside residents will do for a project to update the city's General Plan, Local Coastal Program, and Zoning Ordinance.

The City of Half Moon Bay is currently looking for community participation and feedback to help define a community vision for the future and provide planning policies and regulations to carry out that vision.

All Coastside residents are encouraged to get involved by visiting an interactive online forum where you can post feedback on how to make Half Moon Bay an even better place to live, work, and play.

For example, Deborah H. writes that she wants to see the city "bring back the small town "country" feel to Half Moon Bay" and wants to see better use of "light industrial" zones.

Click here for the project website, which was launched on Dec. 6, 2013, to learn more about the project and how you can participate.

Respond to discussion topics and post some pictures to show what you love about the city. Sign up to receive project updates, including information about several outreach activities planned over the next two months.

Answer questions like "What do you like most about living Half Moon Bay?" and "What do you think needs to be done to create the kind of community you want Half Moon Bay to be?"

By joining the online forum you can weigh in on issues along with other members of the community and communicate directly with local leaders to help the best ideas move forward.
