The two remaining candidates for the District 4 seat on the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors will square off in a debate and forum forum Monday evening at the Fair Oaks Community Center in Redwood City.

Warren Slocum, a Redwood City resident, is a retired San Mateo County Clerk and the former Chief Elections Officer & Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder for San Mateo County.

Shelly Masur, also of Redwood City, is a trustee on the Redwood City School District board and the immediate past president of the San Mateo County School Boards Association, among many other positions. In a recent Q&A with Patch, Masur said the two issues she feels are of a top priority in the County, and that she would largely focus on, are healthcare reform and realignment.

The two candidates came out on top in the June primary, out of eight who applied. Slocum was the top vote-getter with roughly 40 percent of the votes in his favor. Masur garnered roughly 21 percent.

The public is invited to attend the debate, which will bein at 7 p.m. at the Fair Oaks Community Center, 2600 Middlefield Road in Redwood City.
