A day of holiday sparkle and magic for all ages is what's in store at the Half Moon Bay this Christmas Eve.

It all starts in the morning, when Santa and Mrs. Claus make an appearance together for the first time ever at the Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay.

New to the Ritz's holiday event calendar, Breakfast with Santa at The Ritz this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. promises to delight children all ages.

“I think breakfast with Santa is so unique because kids can have face time with Santa and Mrs. Claus, create crafts to take home, and experience the wonderful breakfast food the Ritz-Carlton has to offer,” said Steven Holt with Ritz-Carlton Hotels of Northern California.

Young guests will enjoy a breakfast buffet, featuring miniature pancakes, muffins, waffles and other breakfast treats. Time in Santa’s lap to share wishlists, photo ops with Santa, and Christmas stories read by Mrs. Claus are also part of the morning’s festivities. The event is $38 per person.

The resort’s spectacular Christmas tree is not to be missed.

For Christmas Eve, the hotel restaurant — which has an open-air kitchen and overlooks the Pacific Ocean — is offering a four-course menu, including choice of appetizers, soup, salad, entrée and holiday dessert buffet from 5 to 9:30 p.m. for $115 per person plus tax and gratuity. Guests can also enjoy a la carte selections.

Executive Chef presents extraordinary Northern California coastal cuisine with new menus presented daily, utilizing the freshest catch from neighboring Princeton Harbor and California's best varietals and produce grown along the Bay Area coastline.

Also Christmas Eve, holiday revelers young and old won’t want to miss The Ritz’s famous Hot Chocolate Bar and S’mores from 5:45 to 9:30 p.m.

Hot steaming cups of chocolate can be topped with vanilla or cinnamon whipped cream, homemade marshmallows, toasted coconut, peppermint chips and more.

For an extra decadent chocolate experience, guests can try a Recchiuti Confections (San Francisco) S’Mores Kit for $38 per box. This dreamy treat includes a Bittersweet 85 percent chocolate bar, eight vanilla bean marshmallows and eight Recchiuti Grahams. Marshmallows are roasted on the resort’s fire pits on the bluffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
