Brush Fire Threatens Highland Park Homes
A car caught fire Friday night, and the flames spread to nearby brush, igniting a fire that threatened several homes.

HIGHLAND PARK, CA — A car that caught fire Friday ignited the brush around it, burning almost two acres in Highland Park, threatening six homes, before being knocked down, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The auto fire began about 8:10 p.m., near 4829 Marmion Way, burning uphill towards six homes charring brush, said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The fire department used two different groups, one to extinguish the car fire and the second to protect the homes and put out the brush fire.
