Fund Established in L.A. for Bus Crash Victims

A Los Angeles city councilman started a fund for five local students killed in a collision between a tour bus and FedEx big rig near Orland, Calif.

The students were among 10 people killed Thursday as students and their chaperones made their way toward Humboldt State University for a college orientation program.

Councilman Joe Buscaino asked members of the public to donate to the Humboldt Bus Crash Victims Fund, which was set up with the nonprofit Sharefest to raise money to cover medical care and burial costs.

Donations can be made at sharefestinc.org/buscrashfund.

Checks should be made payable to Sharefest, include Humboldt Bus Crash Victims Assistance Fund in the memo line and be mailed to Sharefest Community Development, 3480 Torrance Blvd. No. 110, Torrance, CA 90503.
