Officers have only limited information about the suspects' identity.

Man Pistol Whipped On Monte Vista Street, Police Seek Suspects

Northeast LAPD Gang Unit Detectives are currently seeking two men and one woman they believe are responsible for pistol whipping man on Avenue 52 on Wednesday evening.

According to LAPD Officer Daniel Martinez, the victim was walking on Avenue 52 and Monte Vista Street at about 6:50 p.m. on Wednesday when we has approached by two males and one female.

"The three suspects approached the victim and asked him where his was from," Marinez said. "When he answered one of the suspects pulled a handgun from his waistband and pistol whipped him in the face."

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics treated the victim for his wounds, which were not life threatening.

Martinez said that the incident appeared to be gang related, as one of the men asked the victim "where he was from" before the altercation--a question meant to determine which local gang a person represents.

The incident is currently under investigation by the department No arrests have been made.
