Assemblyman Mike Feuer, D-West Hollywood, filed papers today to run for Los Angeles city attorney in March 2013.
Feuer, who represents a portion of Hollywood, served on the City Council from 1995-2001, when he lost a race for city attorney to Rocky Delgadillo.
He was elected to the Assembly in 2006, representing a district that includes Beverly Hills, West Hollywood and Studio City.
He chairs the Assembly Judiciary Committee and is the Democrats' policy leader in the lower house. He will be termed out of the Assembly next year. City Attorney Carmen Trutanich filed papers in April to run for Los Angeles County District Attorney. He has not officially said he intends to run for the position.
