Hollywood Bowl Ticket Prices Going Up

County Board of Supervisors OKs 2012 price hikes of $1 to $6 to cover expenses of producing, marketing shows.

Hollywood Bowl Ticket Prices Going Up

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors approved Tuesday an increase in prices next year for Hollywood Bowl tickets.

Prices increases for the 2012 season will range from $1 to $6 per ticket, with most of the increases at the lower end of that range.

The bigger increases typically apply to box seats that already sell for more than $100.

Even after the increase, more than 40 percent of tickets will sell for $28 or less.

The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association, which leases the Bowl from the county, said the new levels are necessary to cover the expenses of producing and marketing shows, including artists' fees.

The association, which last sought a price increase two years ago, said the new prices would still be competitive with other venues.

The cost of parking will not change.

The increases are expected to generate an additional $22,000 for the Bowl.
