Woman Struck, Killed on I-5 in National City Identified
The 20-year-old pedestrian was fatally struck early early Monday.

National City, CA — Authorities have identified a woman who was struck and killed early Monday while walking on Interstate 5 in National City.
At 4:15 a.m. Monday, a 911 caller reported seeing the victim walking in the northbound freeway lanes of I-5, north of West 8th Street, when she was struck by a vehicle, according to a report from the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.
California Highway Patrol Officers responded to the scene and confirmed her death from obvious fatal trauma, the report stated.

The victim was identified as Elisa Gomez Lima, 20, whose place of residence was undetermined.
According to the CHP, the vehicle that struck Lima was an older model Honda sedan.

Her death from multiple blunt force injuries was ruled an accident.Â
