The City of Laguna Beach is proud to announce the appointment of Jeff LaTendresse as the new Fire Chief effective October 29, 2012.

Chief LaTendresse currently serves as the City’s Deputy Fire Chief and has been with the Laguna Beach Fire Department for 15 years. Prior to joining the Laguna Beach Fire Department, Chief LaTendresse worked for the Cathedral City Fire Department for seven years and for the Indio Fire Department for five years.

Chief LaTendresse also served his country as a Firefighter in the United States Air Force. Chief LaTendresse has over 30 years of fire service experience as a Firefighter, Dispatcher, Paramedic, Engineer, Captain, Battalion Chief, Division Chief and Deputy Chief.

Chief LaTendresse is married to Mindy and has two children, Bri and Cody. The family has lived in Laguna Beach for over 12 years, and both children attended school in the Laguna Beach Unified School District.

Chief LaTendresse is replacing Fire Chief Kris Head, who will retire from the City of Laguna Beach after 28 years of service.
