McDonald's Reopens, a Boutique Closes and a Xmas Tree Finder App Debuts

All kinds of things are going on in business news this week in Laguna Niguel.

As we wind down from Thanksgiving and gear up for Christmas and Hanukkah, area business news is hopping.

After months of remodeling, the held its grand reopening Saturday. In addition to great music, balloons and give-aways under blue skies, the fast-food haunt was looking mighty snazzy.

Manager Edward Arellano enjoyed the festive mood with customers while Dave Zirnhelt, director of operations for 15 franchise locations, said the remodeling took about eight weeks to complete.

The McDonald's on Golden Lantern will be the next Laguna Niguel location to undergo a complete remodel, Zirnhelt said. The cost of restoration was not disclosed.

Goodbye, LBT

Over at , nestled between and The Little Black Dress at 32341 Golden Lantern has closed. A tenant since 2000, the store is now shut tight and stripped of its former inventory of gently used, high-end designer goods.

Perfect Tree Locator

As Christmas approaches and the hunt for the perfect tree begins, relax, there's an easier way of finding one than going from place to place.

Laguna Niguel-based , maker of mobile safety communications and lifestyle applications, offers My Tree Lot Finder, a free Smartphone app that helps families find that perfect tree for this Christmas season.

My Tree Lot Finder can save you time and money by locating the closest tree farms/lots near you at any time, with the touch of a single button on the user's Smartphone. Search tree lots and farms by ZIP code, or drag the map to see the lots in your target area with driving directions, website addresses, lot hours and phone numbers.

By clicking on the map, you can see the deals and amenities that tree lots and farms are offering. Do they have pony rides, for example? Or fireplace wood?

"Have you ever headed out after dark to find that perfect tree? Kids in tow? The first lot you go to had nothing but dead and dried trees," said Wayne Irving II, creator of My Tree Lot Finder. "Wouldn't it be nice to know where the next tree lot to you is so you are not driving farther than you have to?"

The app can be downloaded from mytreelotfinder.com or the Android Market Place.
