Body Found in La Jolla Garage Fire
The fire was reported about 8:40 p.m., a San Diego fire official said.

La Jolla, CA — A body was found in a garage fire Wednesday night in La Jolla, an official said.
The fire broke out around 8:40 p.m. in the 1200 block of Via Barranca in La Jolla, according to a watch commander with the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.
The body was that of an elderly woman, Fox 5 reported.

A 10News reporter said in a Twitter post that neighbors said the woman was in her 90s and smoked.

San Diego Fire-Rescue Battalion Chief Mike McBride told CBS8 that it appeared the garage was set up as living quarters.

The deceased person was found in a corner of the garage, McBride said.
No other injuries were reported.
Fire investigators remained on scene for several hours trying to determine the cause of the fire.
