Man Arrested After Allegedly Attempting To Rob Little Italy 7-Eleven

The 18-year-old used a knife to demand cash, police said.

SAN DIEGO, CA -- A young man attempted to rob a 7-Eleven in Little Italy at knifepoint early today, but was chased off by an employee.

The 18-year-old suspect -- later identified as Jesus Sanchez -- allegedly demanded cash from a clerk at the convenience store at the corner of Kettner Boulevard and West Cedar Street shortly before 1:30 a.m. However, the
employee refused to give up any money and chased Sanchez out of the store empty-handed, San Diego police Officer Frank Cali said.

Police officers who happened to be nearby saw the would-be robber run out of the store and took him into custody, Cali said.
