7-Eleven Pouring Free Coffee Friday During ‘7-Election’

7-Eleven stores across the nation are giving away free cups of coffee Sept. 28 with a political twist as part of its 7-Election promo.

Stop by from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and get a large pour in the container of your choosing: a blue Obama cup or a red Romney cup.

The mini-mart is promoting Friday’s event with the tagline, “Get your steaming hot cup of democracy. Grab a cup of hot, fresh coffee and cast your vote.”

All local stores are participating in the event, but the Wildomar 7-Eleven on Clinton Keith and Hidden Springs roads is upping the ante with extended hours and an extra goodie: Free coffee will be available from 3 to 10 a.m. Friday, and the store will be handing out free donuts while supplies last.

7-Eleven corporate officials have already kicked off the political campaign -- dubbed the 7-Election -- by serving coffee for sale in the customer’s choice of a Romney red or Obama blue cup. Online users can see which nominee is currently ahead in the 7-Election by clicking here. At press time, the national 7-Election map is very blue, and California is reporting 61 percent of coffee drinkers choosing Obama cups compared to just 39 percent preferring Romney red.
