Building, Car Go Up In Flames In Wildomar

Fire officials say the fire also spread to some nearby vegetation on Monday.

WILDOMAR, CA - An abandoned building and a vehicle went up in flames Monday in Wildomar, but no one was injured. The blaze also reportedly spread to some nearby vegetation.

According to Jody Hagemann of the Riverside County Fire Department, the fire was reported at 9:19 a.m. Monday in the 34500 block of Monte Vista Drive, near Baxter Road.

About two dozen personnel arrived to find an abandoned storage facility and a car burning and had the flames extinguished in about 20 minutes.

"CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters are on scene of a structure fire in Wildomar involving an abandoned structure, a vehicle and a small spot of vegetation," Hagemann said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation. Resources were expected to stay at the scene for two hours after the fire was contained.
