Drunken Driving Suspected In Wildomar Crash

Drunken driving may be a factor in a single vehicle rollover crash that has left one man injured.

Wildomar resident Ruben Venancio Ponce, 19, had to be extricated from his vehicle by fire personnel shortly after 2 a.m. Easter Sunday after he crashed at the intersection of Palomar and Washington streets.

According to a Wildomar Police Department report, Ponce was traveling at a high rate of speed and lost control.

“The vehicle left the roadway and rolled over several times prior to coming to rest upside down. Alcohol appears to be a factor in the collision,” the police report stated.

After fire personnel rescued Ponce from his vehicle, he was transported to a local hospital. His condition is unknown.
