Lake Elsinore Man Arrested At Target For Shoplifting

A Lake Elsinore man was collared Friday night for allegedly shoplifting at

Alberto Gallegos, 22, was arrested sometime around 9 p.m. after store personnel called to report a shoplifting-in-progress, according to a news release from the Lake Elsinore Police Department.

“The store's loss prevention officer told dispatch the suspect had stolen items from several of their department stores throughout this region as well as this store in the past,” the news release stated.

Officers arrived and detained the suspect as he exited the store, according to the report.

The news release alleges that Gallegos “was positively identified as the suspect in the other previous thefts.”

According to jail records, Gallegos was booked for burglary and receiving stolen property, both felonies. He was also booked for felony possession of a controlled substance. The records show he was also booked for two misdemeanors.

Gallegos is currently in custody at Southwest Detention Center in lieu of $5,000 bail, according to the jail records.
