Motorist Hurtles Down Hill Along Interstate 15

The crash happened about 10 a.m. on northbound I-15, just north of the Pomona (60) Freeway.

A motorist lost control of his vehicle and drove off Interstate 15 in Eastvale Wednesday, plunging down a 100-foot embankment, where he was rescued by firefighters.

The crash happened about 10 a.m. on northbound I-15, just north of the Pomona (60) Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The agency said that the victim, whose identity was not released, veered off I-15, plowed through a guardrail and plummeted down the embankment, ending up behind a cement factory on Philadelphia Avenue.

The driver suffered a broken arm and facial cuts in the wreck, the CHP said.

Riverside County firefighters arrived a few minutes later and provided treatment to the victim at the scene. He was taken to Riverside Community Hospital in stable condition.

No other vehicles were involved, and freeway traffic was not disrupted, according to the CHP.

The crash remains under investigation.
