Perris Man Killed, Woman Injured in Head-On Crash

A 22-year-old Perris man was killed and a woman was seriously injured in a head-on collision in the Lake Mathews area, authorities said Tuesday.

The crash was reported around 7:40 p.m. Monday in the 12800 block of El Sobrante Road near McAllister Street. The man was driving a Nissan 200SX westbound when, for unknown reasons, the car veered into the eastbound lane and into the path of a Ford Expedition, California Highway Patrol Officer Travis Monks said.

The man, whose name wasn’t immediately released, died at the scene.

The 48-year-old Moreno Valley woman behind the wheel of the SUV was airlifted to Riverside Community Hospital, Monks said.
