RV Fire Ignites Near RivCo Home

Cal Fire/ Riverside County Fire Department arrived to find an RV fully aflame, Wednesday.

MORENO VALLEY, CA — A fire that erupted Wednesday in a recreational vehicle parked next to a Moreno Valley home consumed half of the single-wide trailer and threatened the main property before crews got it under control.

The non-injury blaze was reported about 4:55 p.m. in the 27600 block of Rosemont Court, near Milestone Street, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

Multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered flames raging in the RV, which was not occupied, the department reported.

Firefighters established a defensive perimeter to prevent the blaze from extending to the adjacent single-story residence, according to reports from the scene. The structure was not impacted.

By 5:15 p.m., the fire was fully contained and almost extinguished. Officials said about 50% of the RV was significantly damaged, but no one was displaced by the fire.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
