SUV Fire Shuts Down I-15 Lanes In Lake Elsinore

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — An SUV fire that led to a fuel leak on Interstate 15 in Lake Elsinore caused traffic delays Tuesday night.

The blaze was reported around 8 p.m. on I-15 north, near the Main Street offramp, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to the fully involved SUV inferno and quickly doused it, but the vehicle leaked fuel and northbound I-15 was reduced to one lane while the leak was being cleaned up.

There was no word on what caused the fire.

There were no reports of injuries.
