More Charges Against Wildomar Man Accused Of Attempted Murder

A judge ruled Tuesday there is sufficient evidence to hold a Wildomar man accused of attempted murder, and more charges are being filed against him.

The prosecution presented its evidence Tuesday afternoon against Matthew Skyberg, 27, to Riverside County Superior Court Judge Kelly L. Hansen.

Based on testimony, the court determined Tuesday that Skyberg can be held for attempted murder and two additional enhancement charges of using a deadly or dangerous weapon and inflicting great bodily injury in the commission of a felony. He is due to appear in court again Oct. 2 on the enhancement charges, court records show.

Investigating Officer Robert Cornett testified for the prosecution; Skyberg presented no defense Tuesday, according to court records.

On July 27, Skyberg pleaded not guilty to attempted murder in connection with the July 22 stabbing of a 19-year-old Lakeland Village man.
