SVUSD Candidate Statement: Suzie Swartz

Each Saddleback Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees candidate's statement will appear on the November ballot.

SVUSD Candidate Statement: Suzie Swartz

Candidate: Suzie Swartz

OCCUPATION: Governing Board Member, Saddleback Valley Unified School District

Our community deserves outstanding neighborhood schools even in these financially difficult times. As a current Saddleback Valley Unified Board Member and parent, I understand the critical importance of placing resources in the classroom where they have the greatest impact. Parental involvement, accessible administrators and teachers as well as School Board members who focus on supporting and strengthening district staff and our schools are all critical to students’ success.

As your Trustee, I will continue to promote fiscal responsibility, academic accountability, school safety and local control of education tax dollars. I’llc ontinue to aggressively pursue additional resources and assistance for our schools. We have high academic standards supported by excellent teachers. We must continue to emphasize reading, writing, science and math skills. Despite economic uncertainty, we must also work to reduce class sizes across grade levels and bolster music and art. We must prepare students to achieve their potential whether they are college bound or seek immediate employment.

In our community, I have earned a reputation for integrity, open-mindedness and dedication. As a Board Member, parent, businesswoman, PTA member and community volunteer, I’m committed to keeping our district focused on serving all our students.

Please vote Suzie Swartz for School Board
