SDSU’s College of Extended Studies is offering five March classes in its Professional Certificate in Meeting and Event Planning program that offers an opportunity to expand your knowledge and skills within this growing industry.
“I think that the instructors are really high quality because they have so much experience,” said former student Natalie Lewis. “The most valuable takeaway has been their real-life examples.”
March courses include:
Incentive Travel and Destination Management, Saturday, March 1, 9 am-4 pm
Food and Beverage Planning, Tuesday, March 4 and Thursday, March 6, 6-9 pm
Sustainable Practices – Greening Your Meetings and Events, Saturday, March 15, 9 am-12 pm
Festivals and Tradeshows, Saturday, March 22, 9 am-4 pm
Event Marketing and Promotion, Tuesday, March 25 and Thursday, March 27, 6-9 pm
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor of Statistics, “Employment of meeting, convention, and event planners is expected to grow 44 percent from 2010-2020, much faster than the average for all occupations. As globalization increases and businesses continue to recognize the value of professionally planned meetings, the need for meetings and events is expected to grow.”
