Did Someone Order A Neapolitan Pizza?

Well, it's time to celebrate, and Shah Bahreyni has a big reason to party.

Bahreyni and chef Sam Ramadan, with a full head of steam, opened the doors to Boca Pizzeria in The Village earlier this month. The grand opening on Jan. 9 of his third restaurant in Marin came just 18 months after Bahreyni opened the first Boca Pizzeria to Novato. Boca Steakhouse opened in Novato six years ago.

"We always wanted to expand on (the Novato site)," General Manager Greg Eddings said. "It's fantastic, we love everything we do … organic, local ingredients when possible, everything's fresh and it's just a great concept."

"Corte Madera seemed like the next logical step for us," Eddings said, noting that the restaurant is hoping to expand on the family-friendly atmosphere at The Village.

"The opportunity to move into a shopping center like this doesn't come along very often," Bahreyni said, "so when the opening came up, we grabbed it."

Boca's more than 200-seat restaurant at the Village takes over the space that once housed Sharper Image and more recently a furniture store.

Eddings says the new restaurant has been busily serving up entrees since the opening, including fresh pastas, meat, poultry and fish.

"Here is a little bit different than Novato. We've added a flat iron steak and some other items," Eddings said. "We focus on service, we focus on food, the whole package. … We're not just pizza."

But don't forget about the pizza that emerges from Bahreyni's pride and joy: An Italian-imported wood-fired oven, made by Mugnaini, that produces fresh, artisan — and certified — Neapolitan pizzas.

"Regardless of how the economy is, people love to eat out. They pay for that experience and they'll get the whole experience here," Eddings said.
