Downtown Livermore to Ring in Holiday Season

Annual Holiday Sights and Sounds Parade will be held Saturday, Dec. 1.

Downtown Livermore to Ring in Holiday Season

Here's information provided by Livermore Downtown Inc.

Livermore's Home for the Holidays/Holiday Sights and Sounds Parade is this Saturday, December 1st! Snow will be at Lizzie Fountain for kids 8 and under. The Downtown Holiday Open House in our beautiful shops and a Holiday Village Stroll courtesy of Club 56 will add to the day's holiday fun from from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

For Open House details and Christmas Village Stroll map go to our website at www.livermoredowntown.com. Streets will close at 4 p.m. to prepare for the Holiday Sights and Sounds Parade that starts at 6 p.m. The Parade runs on First Street, Starting at M Street and ending at McLeod Street. Congratulations to the Wente Family for being the 2012 Grand Marshalls for the Parade. As the oldest continuously family owned Winery in the Country and the first to bring Chardonnay cuttings from France to California, we are proud to honor their 5 generations of commitment to our Livermore Valley Wine Country.

The Parade has four announcing booths spread throughout the route so that all can hear the fun details of our beautiful float entries.

Announcement Booth 1 is at First and L Street - Announcers are Police Chief Steve Sweeney and School Superintendent Kelly Bowers

Announcement Booth 2 is on First Street between J and K Streets - Announcers are Livermore City Manager Marc Roberts and KKIQ's Faith Alpher

Announcement Booth 3 is the Main Stage at the Flag Pole Plaza on First Street - We are proud to have NBC Bay Area's Bob Redell joining us this year! He will be co-announcing with Bryan Fagundes of BT Productions.

Announcement Booth 4 is a new addition this year on First Street at McLeod Street - Announcers are Past Councilmember Jeff Williams and Shakespeare Associate's Katie Marcel.

The Tree Lighting is immediately following the parade at the Flag Pole Plaza. We will be joined this year by the ABC Music Course Children's Choir as they share with us a Livermore Christmas composition by Choir Director Kim Luty. To hear this beautiful expression of our Livermore Christmas traditions, click hear to watch it performed. Learn the lyrics and be ready to sing along with us after the tree lighting. Another brilliant addition to Christmas in Livermore!

We look forward to seeing you as you shop and dine at our excellent local shops and restaurants this Holiday Season.

The event will go on rain or shine.
