Livermore Babysitter Accused of Smothering Baby Returns to Court in May
Moriah Gonzales faces felony child abuse charges.

LIVERMORE, CA: A 20-year-old East Bay babysitter suspected of abusing a 13-month-old boy in Livermore will be back in court in May.
Moriah Gonzales, who was reportedly seen on surveillance video suffocating the baby until he was limp, will be in court for a pretrial hearing on May 5 at 9 a.m. in the Gale-Schenone Hall of Justice, according to an Alameda County court spokesperson.
Officials began investigating the reported abuse allegations on Feb. 18. According to police, Moriah Gonzales, who advertised her services on Care.com, was taken into custody and booked into the Santa Rita Jail in Dublin on Feb. 19.
Following her arrest, the District Attorney filed one count of 273a(a) PC against Gonzales. She appeared in court on March 4 and pleaded not guilty to the charges against her.
