33-Foot Yacht Catches Fire in Seal Beach

A fire broke out aboard a 33-foot yacht in drydock in Seal Beach tonight.

The fire was reported at 8 p.m. aboard an Egg Harbor yacht in a do-it- yourself area at the Sunset Aquatics Shipyard at 2901 Edinger Ave., said Capt. Steve Concialdi of the Orange County Fire Authority.

“A passerby called 911 which helped limit the fire damage to the boat,” he said.

The fire was under control by 8:23 p.m., he said.

Two fire investigators were looking into the cause of the fire and estimated monetary damage, Concialdi said.
