Here are five odd, interesting or important crime calls made to the Seal Beach Police Department recently.

  • 01/17/2013—08:47 a.m. — Main and Central — A 4-door 2004 Toyota Camry Silver was reported missing.


  • 01/17/2013 — 9:39 a.m. — Alderwood Lane —  A man said he wanted to take pictures of a group of small children and moms, and then he got angry when one of the mom's said he couldn’t. The man was described as in his 60s and wearing a black jacket and dark slacks.


  • 01/17/2013 —10:02 a.m. — A caller said neighbors were moving out of the apartment complex next door and throwing trash and food on the caller’s yard.


  • 01/17/2013 —10:29 a.m. — St. Andrews Drive — Police were investigating a “homeless encampment" near North Gate and the 405 Freeway. They said they located it, but it was “unoccupied at this time.”


  • 01/17/2013 — 12:51 a.m. — Daisy Street —A caller reported a man driving a yellow 2000 Porsche Carrera convertible recklessly in the area.  The man allegedly drove up on the caller’s sidewalk and left marks on the concrete. The driver also allegedly hit a stop sign on Camellia and ended up on the caller’s lawn. The man was described as “extremely under the influence" and was arrested on suspicion of driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs. No injuries were reported. Police staff informed the City's Public Works Department about the downed stop sign.
