The sun is out, the temperatures are rising, and the rain shows no signs of returning (knock on wood). So, the next time you decide to forego cooking and enjoy a meal out, consider the restaurants on this week’s Patch Picks list. Here, we give you five restaurants or cafés in Los Altos, that feature outdoor seating, each of a different cuisine.

So, enjoy a delicious meal, do a little people-watching, and feel the warm summer sun and light breezes on your skin.

Bon appetit!

388 Main St., Los Altos

The Italian cuisine at Aldo Los Altos is hailed as some of the most authentic in the Bay Area. Customers rave about not only the entrées, but the desserts—especially the gelato!—and the wine list as well. Choose a table in their beautiful dining room, or in their outdoor patio.

299 First St., Los Altos

If you’re looking for something a little more casual, but still excellent, try Skip’s. Called “the best pizza in Los Altos, hands down,” Skip’s earns rave reviews by Yelpers. So, this summer, order up one of Skip’s warm, fresh pizzas, and do a little people-watching on First Street in the outdoor dining area. Not in the mood for pizza? Skip’s doesn’t disappoint with its burgers or salads, either.

233 Third St., Los Altos

Easily one of the most popular restaurants in Los Altos, the Grill is known for its American fare such as steaks, seafood and vegetarian—in fact, the Grill’s veggie burger has been praised by the New York Times. The indoor ambience is elegant, but in the summertime, its outdoor seating can’t be beat.

205 State St., Los Altos

Breakfast in the cool summer breeze—what could be better? I’ll tell you—enjoying a big stack of pancakes from Rick’s Café on their outdoor patio. Breakfast at Rick’s is legendary; people come from all over the Bay Area to eat it. This summer, be sure to enjoy breakfast or brunch at Rick’s on the patio, at least once—you won’t regret it.

301 State St., Los Altos

If it’s Mexican you crave, Fiesta Vallarta is known for serving up some of the most delicious Mexican fare in the city—and the summer months, its outdoor patio is one hot spot, indeed. And, despite the restaurant’s popularity, Yelpers say its almost never so busy that you can’t get a table just by walking in off the street. Sounds like a winner!
