On Saturday morning, May 19, members of the Beautification Committee met on the corner of North Santa Cruz Avenue and Highway 9, in front of , and turned a barren slab of tarmac into a beautiful oasis.

Los Gatos Parks Commissioner Barbara Holden created the design plan, gathered the resources and recruited an enthusiastic team to achieve her vision of a drought tolerant garden at this busy intersection. 

Thanks to Holden and Stephanie Mathews for sending this photo that captured the volunteer and service spirit of these Los Gatos residents.
