MALIBU, CA -- An Australian man who allegedly slashed a security guard in the face with a knife at supermodel Miranda Kerr's Malibu home was charged Tuesday with attempted murder and other counts.

Shaun Anthony "Esra" Haywood, 29, was scheduled to be arraigned this afternoon at the Van Nuys courthouse on one count each of attempted murder, aggravated mayhem and assault with a deadly weapon, along with an allegation that he inflicted great bodily injury on the guard.

Haywood allegedly went to the property on Oct. 14 to try to deliver a letter, then grabbed the guard's knife and slashed his face after being confronted about being on the grounds. The guard then shot Haywood, according to prosecutors.
