MB Taste Sold Out, Dry Bar, Sea View Inn

The Taste of MB is sold out, Dry Bar says it's in MB, and today there's a free seminar on dealing with aging and having that perhaps uncomfortable conversation about planning for one's later years. Oh, yeah, there's Grad Night and Sea View Inn.

MB Taste Sold Out, Dry Bar, Sea View Inn

1. Tickets for the Taste of Manhattan Beach are sold out, according to a centennial committee website page. At a special meeting held on Friday, the committee noted that the 350 public tickets that were available have been scooped up. Another 150 tickets are allocated for sponsors of the city's centennial events. The Taste will be held on Sunday, March 25 from 1-4 p.m. and will offer a farmers market that is open to the public.

2. A free "Beginning the Conversation Symposium" by Adia for families and caregivers will be held at  from 11:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, March 18. Adia representatives and a panel of experts will discuss topics such as learning how to begin the conversation and planning for the care of an older loved one, identifying the needs and desires of your aging loved one and learning what options are available and discovering effective tools, techniques and resources available to you and your older loved one in the community,  according to the Adia website. RSVP with your name and number of guests by e-mailing  rsvp@adiacares.com  or calling 310-370-0555.

3. Dry Bar, which has locations in West Hollywood, Brentwood, Pacific Palisades, and Newport Beach, has supposedly opened in Manhattan Beach, according to its website. But their website also lists the location's address as being 2005-B East Park Place in Plaza El Segundo, which, as you can guess, is in El Segundo.

4. , as listed on CBS Los Angeles, is one of the best beach getaways in Southern California. Located at 3400 Highland Avenue in North Manhattan Beach, the inn is shown with a photo of The Roundhouse Aquarium & Marine Studies Lab shot from south of the pier... which, of course, is so very close to North Manhattan Beach where Sea View is. Yes, the MB Pier is iconic... and MB a travel destination... but why not use a photo of the beach scene at Marine Avenue/26th Street or El Porto, which are closer to the inn? I'm just asking.

5. The Warrant Register being presented to City Council for approval Tuesday, March 20 includes $7,500 for the Mira Costa Grad Night Booster Club. The city is a sponsor of the event. On a Warrant Register for City Council at its March 6 meeting, an amount of $7,500 was listed for payment to Mira Costa High School for sponsorship of Grad Night.
