Asher, a new contemporary residential development in Playa Vista, has won two awards at the Gold Nuggets, now celebrating its 51st year. Developed by KB Homes and designed by Robert Hidey Architects, Asher won the Grand Award for Residential Project of the Year-Detached Product. Robert Hidey Architect's Asher at Playa Vista was also recognized individually with a Merit Award in the Best Single-Family Detached Home category (2,500 to 2,999 sq. ft.). Asher consists of three unit plans, each characterized by an open, minimalistic layout befitting its contemporary style. The Asher plans, which are bent in the middle to increase natural light and expand exterior views from all primary interior spaces, produce a uniquely modern building aesthetic. Interior details, such as glass stair rails, smooth-textured wall and floor finishes, streamlined cabinetry, decorative light fixtures and sliding glass wall systems complete the artistry.
