Power Outage Causes Havoc at LAX
Traffic lights at the airport were out for nearly two hours, and some people were trapped in elevators at the airport.

A power outage hit Los Angeles International Airport tonight, trapping some people in elevators and taking out traffic lights.
A surge in the line hit the airport at 7:50 p.m., knocking out power, said Marshall Lowe of Los Angeles World Airports, the city agency that operates the airport.
None of the lights on the runways affecting air traffic were involved, but there were some outages in the parking structures and reports of some problems for a while in terminals, Lowe said. With traffic lights out, airport police were forced to direct traffic.
