A suspect in Friday's shooting on a Bay Point highway was arrested Tuesday but investigators are still looking for a second suspect, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Two people were seriously injured in the shooting on state Highway 4 near Willow Pass Road that happened at about 2:45 p.m., the CHP said.

People in two vehicles had been involved in a confrontation and shots were fired. One of the vehicles swerved and struck a bystander's vehicle, who called the CHP.

Two shooting victims were then dropped off at Contra Costa County Regional Hospital and taken to John Muir Medical Center for treatment for their injuries.

The CHP arrested a man today in connection with the shooting and impounded a blue sedan with bullet holes as evidence. Investigators are still seeking a four-door red sedan with bullet holes and that car's driver, the CHP said.

The suspect arrested today is being held in Martinez jail on unrelated charges, the CHP said.

Anyone with information about the shooting has been asked to call the CHP at 707-551-4100.
