Alleged Drunk Drivers Hit Head-On: He Gets 44 Days, She Gets 2

An alleged drunk driver who ran head-on into another intoxicated motorist in a Menlo Park intersection in late summer of 2012 pleaded no contest Tuesday to misdemeanor drunk driving, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney's office, and will serve 44 days jail and probation time.

Yungee Kim, 42, will serve the term beginning March 15. He must also serve 200 hours of community service. His driver’s license was suspended for one year.

According to the district attorney, Kim ran into Zaquis Jahrona Coleman about 2:30 a.m. at the intersection of Chrysler Drive and the Bayfront Expressway, then took off on foot. Coleman tested at .18/.19 blood alcohol.

She was uninjured, but a passenger suffered a compound fracture to her left wrist, and was taken to a hospital.

Two hours later, Kim was found by police, missing his shoes and falling down as the officer contacted him, according to the DA.

Investigators found that the car was registered to Kim. The car keys were in his pocket.
