Head-On Crash Near Facebook HQ Sends Two to Hospital

"They both were very fortunate to apparently be uninjured, let alone alive." (breaking)

MENLO PARK, CA — Two people were hospitalized following a head-on collision Monday in Menlo Park on a roadway behind the headquarters of Facebook, according to Menlo Park Fire Protection District officials.

At 1:04 p.m., firefighters responded to a report of the collision on Chilco Street between Constitution Drive and Hamilton Avenue, fire officials said. Fire crews arrived on the scene and found a Volkswagen sedan and a BMW 325 sedan had collided head-on. Both drivers were outside of their vehicles and appeared to be uninjured.

"Both drivers, a male and a female, were out of their vehicles on the arrival of fire personnel," fire officials said in a news release. "While they appeared to be uninjured, they were medically checked by Firefighter Paramedics who recommended that they be checked out by a physician based upon the nature of the incident."
