Ailing Sailor Rescued from Tanker Ship With Help of Southern Marin Paramedics
The sailor was taken from the tanker ship by the lifeboat to receive emergency medical services in Sausalito.

The Southern Marin Fire Protection District and the U.S. Coast Guard rescued a sailor who suffered chest pains aboard a tanker ship eight miles west of San Francisco on Monday morning.
Coast Guard Sector San Francisco’s command center received a call around 8 a.m. Monday for medical assistance for a 52-year-old man on board the 577-foot Overseas Boston, a U.S.-flagged tanker ship, according to the Coast Guard.

The Coast Guard launched a 47-foot motor lifeboat crew with two Southern Marin paramedics on board.
The ailing sailor was taken from the tanker ship by the lifeboat to receive emergency medical services at Coast Guard Station Golden Gate in Sausalito.

“Because of the great communication and coordination between the vessel Overseas Boston and our boat crew, we were able to successfully complete the transfer through tough sea conditions,” Petty Officer Emily Leone said.
