Kiddo! Reaches $3 Million Fundraising Goal
“We are so grateful for the generous support from families, businesses and the community,” Kiddo! Executive Director Bill Lampl said. “Because of these contributions the Mill Valley School District is able to maintain its core arts programs, and donations also provide critical funding for physical education, support staff and innovative programs.”
Lampl said 75 percent of all district families contributed to the campaign. Campaign Chair Caitlin Smith credited much of the success to December’s “Swirl Participation Challenge” in which Miller Ave. frozen yogurt shop Swirl offered a free 8oz. frozen yogurt to every student if Kiddo! reached its participation goal this year.
“With 1,864 donations from families, we have met our goal and earned each of our students a delicious treat!” Smith said.
The contributions also include a projected $45,000 from shopping rebate programs like eScrip, Mill Valley Market’s Shop & Give, and Whole Foods 5% Day, $163,000 in interest from the Kiddo! Endowment Fund, and $215,000 from the Kiddo! Business Partner Program. Click here or more info on that program, and here for a list of participants.
