“The Cat who Chose to Dream,” made it’s opening debut with extraordinary strides.

Local author, Dr. Loriene Honda was introduced on the Assembly Floor of the State Capitol by Assemblymember Mariko Yamada, in recognition of “Fred Korematsu Day”, on Thursday January 30th.

Fred Korematsu Day is an established day of Civil Liberties, honoring Asian American Civil Rights.  Assembly Member Yamada stated, “In honor of Fred Korematsu Day, it’s important to reflect upon our civil rights and the heroes who stood up to protect them. My hope is that young readers will be empowered to stand up for themselves and for others by reading this story.”
