Congressman Mike Honda, who represents the 15th Congressional District, which includes Milpitas and other sections of the Silicon Valley, will be in town Monday afternoon to visit the Milpitas Rotary Club.
The Congressman will be attending the Rotary Club's weekly meeting at in the to speak to members about the upcoming election in November and other legislative issues of both national and local interest.
Rep. Honda has been representing the 15th Congressional District in the House of Representatives for more than a decade. He also serves on a number of high-profile committees such as the House Budgets and Appropriations Committees, and is Chair Emeritus of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus.
A vocal supporter of national educational causes, Rep. Honda is also the original author of the Equity and Excellence Commission, now housed in the U.S. Department of Education.
