Adorable OC Kids Celebrate 7-11 Free Slurpee Day in 50th Anniversary Celebration

Mission Viejo, CA--It's July 11, and if that doesn't strike you as special, your friendly neighborhood convenience store has a reminder for you.

On July 11, also known as "Free Slurpee Day," visitors to any 7-Eleven stores across the country moms of the Facebook group "Orange County Moms" celebrated by taking their little ones in for a simple summer delight.

Customers and lovers of the super sweet, chilly drink lined up for a small sized complimentary offering of the famed "Slurpee."

In 2016, 7-Eleven’s signature Slurpee drink turns 50 years old, and the store is releasing a special flavor to celebrate.

The limited edition offering joins wild cherry, Coca Cola and "Sour Patch Redberry."

Moms in Orange County made sure to take their kids for a taste of the frozen treats as the perfect summer day diversion.

7‑Eleven Day only comes once a year, and the convenience store celebrates its birthday by giving away its famous frosty drink for free at its nearly 60,000 stores nationwide and across the country.

Moms of teenagers may not have had to drag teenagers to get their freebie, but pictures for the older kids are a little harder to come by.

Mother Jennifer Lewis was able to take her tyke to a Yorba Linda 7-Eleven, to give him a first taste of her own summertime favorite.

Stop by your local 7-Eleven store on Monday between 11 a.m. to 7 p.m to snag your complimentary 12-ounce Slurpee.
