Head-On Crash Closes Ortega Highway
Two 24-year-old drivers were rushed to hospitals with traumatic injuries.

A head-on collision on Ortega Highway today sent two drivers to an area hospital and forced the shutdown of the major thoroughfare.
The collision occurred about 5:45 p.m. about two miles east of Antonio Parkway, according to Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Steve Concialdi.
Both drivers in the crash -- who are 24 years old -- were sent to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo with traumatic chest and shoulder injuries, Concialdi said.

The stretch of the highway near the collision site was closed while California Highway Patrol officers tried to move the wreckage to the side.
