The bodies of four people found in a Mission Viejo home as a result of a murder-suicide were members of the same family, according to published reports.
The four, two males and two females, were found at the residence in the 25600 block of Pacific Hills Drive around 9 a.m. Tuesday, the Orange County Sheriff's Department said.
Broadcast and online outlets reported the deceased were husband and wife Mark and Lydia Sheer, their son, who was in his 20s, and their daughter, said to be in her late teens. All were victims of a murder-suicide, the Orange County Sheriff's Department reported Tuesday.
Sheer, a business consultant, was identified through his church, Mount of Olives Lutheran Church, and its pastor, according to broadcast reports.
"We really didn’t see that coming. They were a family we loved," Pastor John Steward told KTLA.
KTLA identified the son as Michael Sheer, 21, and the daughter as Amy Sheer, 15.
